Tod’s Spring 2015

by Dena Silver

If you were to stumble upon the most glorious garden filled with florals translated into pale sheaths of leather, the result would be Alessandra Facchinetti‘s latest runway showing. As for the focus of this Spring collection from Tod’s? Tailored pieces, clean lines, and plenty of luxe hides, all set in a modern, indoor garden venue. A palette of cream, evergreen, lilac, light pink, canary yellow, and mahogany made up the collection of elegant outdoorsy pieces. While the selection of simple frocks were obsession-worthy (especially those with brilliant laser-cut detailing), there were plenty of pants to consider as well. Take a denim double-breasted suit, which was spiced up with some oversized python pockets or a pair of aqua culottes that were paired with a cool single-button blazer. While the silhouettes were straightfoward and strong, abstract details bled through, with squiggles of leather acting as a waist belt and silver swirls overtaking a not-so-simple choker. Tying together the looks were those driving moccasins the house has become synonymous with. Some versions were modernized with flashes of gold, while a royal blue pair held its own against a sunny yellow suit. This is one garden party we’d absolutely attend.
