Pack your bags, we’re going a sailing trip with Tibi’s Amy Smilovic, but don’t forget your flask! For Resort, the designer decided to put her own, naughty spin on the nautical trend, although a misbehaving sailor is not guaranteed with purchase. Rather, there are sailing references aplenty, including toggled sweaters, a healthy dose of stripes, and enough rope detail to go around. Evoking the notion of heavily tattooed sailors were infusions of prints, including a bandana-like swirl and also a colorful concoction of ropes and flowers. Should it rain during your maritime adventure, there’s a rain poncho to take into consideration, but in a chic navy blue with a bell-sleeve. Care to take a dip? There’s a colorful bikini for that, too. And for the girl who won’t find herself on a yacht, there are plenty of pieces to opt for on the streets: a dusty pink satin trench and a black suit jacket with racing stripes. Additionally, the pleated pieces were a standout, like a printed high-neck dress in hues of sand, white and black, which would fare well in a tropical heatwave. On the culotte front, there were plenty to pick from, because between the sea-blue ones, casual khaki style or sleek leather pair, there’s something to please everyone. And the one denim get-up, a blousy lace-up top with a pair of relaxed trousers, were the definition of laid-back chic. So, will we be seeing you on the high seas?
