The Webster’s Laure Heriard Dubreuil On Her Eres Swimsuit Collab

by Dena Silver

As brutal rainstorms soak the streets of New York this afternoon, why not revisit sunnier times? To wit: This weekend, Laure Heriard Dubreuil hosted an airy lunch atop her go-to Miami boutique, The Webster. Not only is the shop stocked with lust-worthy designs from the likes of Chanel, Adam Lippes, and Saint Laurent—it’s also the only purveyor (at the moment) of a new swimsuit collab between Eres and Heriard Dubreuil. The chic LHD x Eres suits come in playful hues of pink and yellow, dotted with beach-apropos motifs, and there are a few breezy cover-ups that transition seamlessly from the sand to the bar on offer as well. Guests at the lunch included Max Osterweis, Kate Foley, Waris Ahluwalia, Virgil Abloh, Elisa Sednaoui, and Lauren Remington Platt. And we were able to grab a moment with Heriard Dubreuil, to talk about her foray into swimsuit design, which are exclusively available at The Webster, until they hit Eres boutiques in February.

How did your collab with Eres come about?
Eres was one of the first brands I started carrying at The Webster; I did an event with them when we were at our temporary location. I would even talk about Eres in all of my interviews, so it just made sense. They were looking for an ambassador who embodied the brand; I was super happy to join them.

How did you approach the swimsuit design process?
I was inspired by Miami’s colors and its sunshine. One of the prints is a bit more ‘50s, Art Deco-inspired. The other print is more of a floral, inspired by the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, which has one of the biggest collections of tropical flowers in the world.

When did you get your first Eres number?
I’ve always been such a huge fan of Eres. My mom used to wear Eres and I would fantasize about buying one of their suits as a child. I wasn’t allowed to own a piece from them until I was 18.

Is it still a rite of passage to score that inaugural Eres bathing suit?
I think so!

What style are you drawn to most in the collection?
I love the one-piece style with an umbrellas print It’s a classic shape for Eres; it’s something athletic but sexy.
