Perched front row at Francisco Costa’s Calvin Klein Collection resort show was legendary nonagenarian painter Ellsworth Kelly, who recently collaborated with the designer on a colorblock dress based on Kelly’s painting Red Yellow Blue White from 1952. The original version of the limited-edition dress has been donated to The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The label’s resort collection also pulled cues from the painter’s work; but this time, Costa took inspiration from the hues inside the painter’s studio.
