It’s another fashion calendar shakeup! Tommy Hilfiger is moving his show to Monday, September 9th at 11 a.m. right after Carolina Herrera instead of his usual time slot on Sunday at 8 p.m. The move will bump Belstaff out of its time slot, where they have shown for the past two seasons. As a result of Hilfiger’s time shift, Belstaff will now hold a presentation and cocktail party on September 8th at 7 p.m. at The Four Seasons instead.
Up for a little après-surf attire? Then hop onto the Tommy Hilfiger surf shack tour! This month the brand is launching a limited edition “Surf Shack” collection inspired by the warm waters of Malibu to Australia’s Gold Cost and the chilly Atlantic in Biarritz. The collection will feature 12 women’s pieces and 16 men’s pieces with looks like a pastel yellow maxi dress, multi-colored striped bikini, or a gingham blazer for women to fuschia and blue swimshorts, a pair of white roll up pants with a surfboard print and a chambray zip anorak for men.
Surf’s up! Last night, Tommy Hilfiger celebrated the launch of a limited edition “Surf Shack” capsule collection and collaboration with Art Production Fund at No. 8 in Manhattan. Artists Lola Montes Schnabel, Richard Phillips, Scott Campbell, Gary Simmons, and Raymond Pettibon were all asked to apply their talents to design a limited-edition set of surfboards that were on display at Amy Sacco’s clubhouse.
Dee Ocleppo, designer, former model, wife of Tommy Hilfiger and mother to four-year-old, Sebastian Thomas Hilfiger, hosted a luncheon on Wednesday to celebrate mothers of autistic children along with Autism Speaks at their Mother’s Day “Mom’s 4 Mom’s” event held at The Lambs Club in New York City.
Tommy Hilfiger got a face lift! The Tommy Hilfiger Soho store, that is. Last night Tommy Hilfiger and Details magazine through a bash to celebrate the new store redesign, whose nautical theme of decorative sterns and sailboat replicas along with tequila cocktails provided by La Esquina had everyone in a summery mood.

The Hilfigers are back! The whole gang returns (with a few newbies!) for their sixth season in Tommy Hilfiger’s global campaign, le vöyãge seafãr-iüs. “I love the boating life, and this season The Hilfigers are setting sail like only they know how, with all the adventurous spirit and youthful irreverence we’ve come to love and expect,” Papa Hilfiger explains.
Last night, Threads of Color kicked off its yearlong calendar with a Salute to America soiree, held at the Bernstein Display Showroom in midtown. Founded by Ionia Dunn Lee, a former ESSENCE fashion editor, stylist and current LIM College professor, the non-profit Threads of Color awards college scholarships to aspiring fashionistas (like last night’s winner, fashion merchandising student Fallon Davis) and celebrates diversity in the industry. Student models ambled around the patriotically themed space in designs by the likes of Carmen Marc Valvo, Tracy Reese and Tommy Hilfiger, the latter of whom will be given a lifetime achievement award at Threads of Color’s big runway show this September.
