InStyle has made quite the hiring coup: Eric Wilson will join the Time Inc. title on November 18 as fashion news director, which is a newly-created position at the mag. Wilson has been a beloved fashion voice at The New York Times for the past seven years, serving as a Styles desk reporter as well as co-shouldering the critic role with Cathy Horyn. Before joining The Times in 2005, Wilson was at WWD.

For the new publisher of the staggeringly weighty InStyle, the fashion beat is no strange territory to Karin Tracy. Neither is Time Inc. stardom, which came to her in the form of publisher titles at People StyleWatch and Entertainment Weekly, after a brief stint at InStyle as former publisher Connie Anne Phillips’ right hand. As for the pressure factor? She’s loving every minute.

Condé publisher shuffles alert! After InStyle publisher Connie Anne Phillips parted ways with the Time Inc. title last month, word had it that Phillips would be returning to her old 4 Times Square stomping grounds, where she spent an impressive 14 years at Vogue. The rumors are true: Phillips will become part of the Condé crowd once again on July 8, when she assumes the role of VP and publisher of Glamour. Phillips’ predecessor, Bill Wackermann, most recently held the title of EVP and publisher at Glamour; he’s helmed the glossy’s publishing team since 2004. Wackermann will now move to Conde Nast Traveler to fill the shoes of Carolyn Kremins, who segued over in to fellow Condé property Epicurious.com last week.

Publicists are coming up with more and more clever ways to attract editors to press previews. A British PR firm is offering editors complimentary rickshaw rides to cart you to and from the office, Factory PR is wooing us in with a free class at SoulCycle, and United Nude sent us back to the office in this (pictured) ’80s graffitied stretch limo they shipped from Florida.

Vivacious doesn’t even begin to describe the publishing powerhouse that is Connie Anne Phillips, who’s been keeping InStyle (way, way) atop the glossy pile over the past four years. The Vogue alum invited us into her splashily decorated office to discuss her secrets… InStyle’s been booming since you arrived in 2009! What’s the trick?
