For the first time ever, a day-long jewelry showcase featuring the designs of 19 CFDA members was held at the CFDA headquarters to amp up recognition for the designers and their sparkly accessories. Who was the mastermind behind this idea? Simon Alcantara, a member of the council, who desired exposure beyond the usual retail and editorial spaces. Danielle and Jodie Snyder of Dannijo displayed their work, as did Nak Armstrong, Lisa Salzer of Lulu Frost, Kara Ross and Gerard Yosca, bringing out Vogue-ettes Selby Drummond and Ricke De Sole. After the jewelry was viewed, designers and guests alike toasted with a celebratory cocktail reception. Cheers!

Digital showroom The Runthrough just received $1.2 million in funding led by the New York Angels, a group of 75 individually accredited angel investors. Founded in 2011 by former W magazine accessories editors, Meggan Crum and Mandy Tang, The Runthrough acts as a virtual showroom that neatly compiles product from ready-to-wear and accessories brands so that fashion editors can simply request their product pulls in one forum the way a consumer would shop say, Net-A-Porter.
