When The Daily first ventured into the secretive world of editorial assistants, we nabbed a chat with Seth Plattner, the creative writer-turned-journalist who artfully crafted Robbie Myer’s daily schedule as editor-in-chief at ELLE. A klatch of ELLE editors and an intimate posse of chicsters dined at Indochine last night in honor of their January cover lass, Joan Smalls, and iconic photog Michael Thompson, who shot the mod for the glossy. Nick Axelrod of Into The Gloss.

Audrey Hepburn may have snacked on croissants outside the window of Tiffany & Co., but Lori Goldstein had a much more lavish affair with dinner at the esteemed jewelry house. Hosted by ELLE and Tiffany & Co., Goldstein invited close friends, past collaborators, and a slew of fellow ELLE editors to celebrate her first tome, Style Is Instinct. Guests were escorted through the deserted first floor of the jewelry store (every girl’s dream come true) and whisked up to the fifth floor, where an intimate crowd were sipping cocktails and exchanging kisses. The lady of the evening welcomed friends like Anna Sui, Jamie Bochert, Kate Young, Cass Bird, Crystal Renn, Kevin O’Malley, Anne Slowey, and Brian Atwood.

In addition to running her own design studio and designing a line for QVC, Goldstein is also a fashion editor-at-large at ELLE. But with everything on her plate she’s still found time to pen a book about her work. Style Is Instinct, which hits stores tomorrow, explores Goldstein’s fashionable career including W spreads, photo shoots with John Galliano, and teaming up with Steven Meisel.
