Former i-D fashion editor Fiona Dallanegra will rejoin the British magazine’s masthead on April 2nd with a new title: publisher. Dallanegra will take over for founders Tricia and Terry Jones, who sold the bi-monthly chronicle to Vice Media in December. The husband and wife duo will, however, remain as shareholders and partners in the business.
Remember when Kate Davidson Hudson and Stefania Allen, Elle’s former accessories director and senior accessories editor, respectively, bid adieu to the glossy separately in the fall? The duo quickly regrouped to roll out a sleek e-comm take on beautiful accessories coverage, ‘Editorialist,’ which bowed a few weeks ago. It’s a fine time for a recap and a peek into what’s to come for the accouterment-adoring duo!

As heads of state gather for the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women stateside, Karl Lagerfeld was holding his own convention of sorts in Paris where the Grand Palais was transformed into the Chanel headquarters, complete with a giant rotating globe front and center. Jessica Chastain, Vanessa Paradis, and Milla Jovovich were just a few of the bold-faced “representatives” that gathered for the event. On the agenda? Elongated overcoats with a center cutout at the hem, exaggerated nubby jackets worn over pleated minis, fit ‘n’ flare LBDs accented with slick over-the-knee leather boots, and scads of oversize knits of the bejeweled, braided, or crocheted variety. An updated take on the classic Chanel skirtsuit was especially appealing, this time crafted with an A-line skirt slit up the center and twinned with your choice of topper–a tweed or leather jacket with an amplified collar, sleeves, or both, if you please. And in case you thought you were seeing things, that really was a petit transparent globe purse dangling from a string of pearls on one mod, which could only signal one thing: Lagerfeld really does have the whole world in his hands. Meeting adjourned.
We spy with our little eye… Anna Wintour and Patrick Demarchelier shared a moment in Paris earlier today at the Chanel show. Anna’s in the best mood evah on Chanel day. (Can you spot Kyle Anderson and Joe Zee in this shot?) Per usual, Karl brought out an impressive front row including Jessica Chastain, Milla Jovovich, Leigh Lezark, Mario Testino, and even Jason Wu.
Who knows when we’ll have the pleasure of seeing Anna Dello Russo again now that show season is winding down, so we’re going to treasure every one last sighting. ADR was at the Chanel show today at the Grand Palais in Paris and returned to doing what she does best. She put something in her hair!
Everybody has a secret crush on Tilda Swinton, so who better than her to appear in CHANEL’s new campaign for their Métiers d’Art Paris-Edinburgh collection? “She is of course Scottish, but more than that she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance,” Karl Lagerfeld explains. Cheers! Look for the campaign to roll out in May.

Harper’s Bazaar UK’s new top chick is an old-school English journo with a twist of the Parisienne, A nimble wordsmith, she wrote the 2011 must-read, Chanel: Her Life, blogs for fun, sips tea by the bucket load, adores Diana V., and knows her fashion history cold. Less a restaurant than a religion, Le Bernardin looms atop the New York City food chain like some midtown Notre Dame—an ecstatically four-starred salute to the wonders of the sea. But while it may be tough to book a pew, it’s easy to feel at home, thanks to Maguy Le Coze—its bobbed and beatific high priestess, conscience, and co-owner—who’s been spreading her saintly brother’s gospel of raw with chef Eric Ripert for three decades running. She is classically fabulous and utterly French: Behold her awesome power!
