Baby, you’re a fiiiiiiiiirework…Katy Perry aptly covers Vogue’s July issue! Annie Leibovitz shot the 28-year-old’s first-ever Vogue cover (awwww….) where inside the pages she opens up about her life, her loves, with a fresh romantic look. (Read: The blue hair ain’t happening on the cover of Vogue.) The new issue also features a piece on Alexander Wang rebooting Balenciaga and an intriguing piece on good moods and good sex. Looks like everybody’s drinking the Cosmo water this month.

Alexander Wang is a busy man these days. Having debuted his own collection at New York Fashion Week, designed his first much-anticipated collection for Balenciaga, and launched the brand’s new ad campaign, the designer now has a new collab underway with menswear e-tailer Mr. Porter.
Steven Klein shot Alexander Wang’s first ad campaign since being named Balenciaga’s creative director and we’re getting a Hitchcock vibe from this black and white shot. The fall campaign features Kristen McMenamy’s body, but no face, so the attention is all on the clothes. (McMenamy is known for her androgynous appearance, but that must have been a particularly easy day at the office.)

Ever the cult bag purveyor, will Alexander Wang’s next style, whipped up in conjunction with Samsung, fare as well as his eponymous studded-bottom covetables? The collab is comprised of a bag patterned with an amalgam of prints, pulled from photos taken on the Samsung Galaxy phone by Wang’s coterie of pals. Expect the bags to hit Wang’s retail outposts come summer; the collab will also be up for sale on the designer’s website. Of course, there’s a charity component to tie the whole alliance together: proceeds will go to ArtStart. The NYC-based charity focuses on at-risk youth getting their creativity on. Given Wang’s eclectic posse of cronies, we’re expecting some pretty epic photos to get incorporated into this chic tote…
