T Magazine has added a new title to their business side and they’ve tapped Amanda Smith for the associate publisher gig. She’s arriving at the magazine internally, from The New York Times, where she’s been advertising director since October 2013. “Amanda is a superstar. Her background couldn’t be better suited for this position with her newspaper and fashion knowledge,” said Brendan Monaghan, VP of luxury and publisher at T Magazine, in a statement. “She has been key in our growth here at T this year, and I’m looking forward to keeping that momentum going with her by my side.”
Prior to arriving at the Grey Lady, Smith spent three years as the American fashion director at Vogue. Her CV also includes stints as global luxury manager at The Wall Street Journal and as national sales manager at City Business Journals. A native of Minneapolis, MN, Smith received an MA in journalism from University of Wisconsin-Madison and an undergraduate degree at Drake University.
