Stone & Strand to Open Brick and Mortar Boutique

by Paige Reddinger

Stone & Strand, the online destination for emerging and established fine jewelry designers, is launching its first brick and mortar store in Tribeca. The company was founded by Nadine McCarthy, a Wharton Business School grad with an MA from Cambridge University, who brought on creative director Brooke Magnaghi. Magnaghi spent 12 years at W, where she was the accessories and jewelry director before joining Stone & Strand.

Their new 1,600-square-foot loft at 185 Franklin Street will not only sell the brand’s excellently curated fine jewelry, but will also offer ring sizing, piercing, styling consultations, and monthly event series with local artists and designers. The space will also serve as the new headquarters and showroom. “We found our customers loving our concierge services more and more with each purchase,” said McCarthy. “We wanted to provide an in-person experience where we can deliver that best-in-class service, get to know our customers, and experiment with new, unique services and perks for our most loyal fans.”

The boutique, which was designed by Patricia de Niemeyer, has a warm atmosphere with jewel-toned hues and will carry designers like Alison Lou, Carolina Bucci, Ileana Makri, and Amedeo. Also, expect exclusive U.S. launches like Nayla Arida, Shagreen et Tortoise, Catherine Zoraida, and more. And if you’re into vintage, you can pick from a selection of Chanel, Givenchy, and YSL pieces curated by Magnaghi.

The store opens February 1 and will hold an event series in collaboration with florists Stems Brooklyn, so clients can shop bouquets and jewels for their significant others. Start dropping those Valentine’s Day hints to your loved ones…or you could do the modern thing and treat yourself to something nice for the New Year!
