Sergio Says! Musings From Cosmo (and Beyond…)

by The Daily Front Row

How we’ve missed him! After a few weeks off from filling us in on his fab life, things are back to normal for the assistant of Cosmo EIC Joanna Coles and national treasure, Sergio Kletnoy. Who entered Sergio’s orbit during our painful hiatus? It’s all here!

Monday
I’m finally back from the heaven and hell that was NYFW. The last two weeks felt like an episode of Looney Toons, with me as Wile E. Coyote trying desperately to catch up with The Roadrunner (aka THE BOSS), whose insane schedule was literally in flux every second of the day. Beep beep! In a nutshell: 35 fashion shows, jammed between 41 meetings, six lunches, five conference calls, and four breakfasts. In the midst of all of that I managed to have a 1-on-1 (in Russian!), with THE Carine Roitfeld (Surprise! She has Ukranian roots, just like moi), and ended up shopping (and almost fainting) next to Madonna’s daughter Lola and her dad Carlos at my fave vintage shop, Metropolis. I dished Shahs of Sunset goss with its main biatch Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi; compared jobs with Brad Goreski’s assistant Lindsay during Brad’s meeting with JoCo; and did some maje brown nosing to Italian Vogue EIC Franca Sozzani outside of Da Silvano. I spent a day on the set of a killer photoshoot with hair god Oribe, played the role of bodyguard to Miley Cyrus and JC at the Rachel Zoe fashion show and later that night at fashion week’s biggest party celebrating Miley’s glorious March Cosmo cover, at JoCo’s regular nightspot, ACME. Just call me Superman! I’ll sleep when I’m dead!

Tuesday
This morning, I was photographed and interviewed for a New York Post story on “men behind the women”—the right-hand men who help out some of NYC’s biggest female power players. It was so Devil Wears Prada meets All About Eve…The story is out on Feb 25th, so I better see a bump in sales that day for The New York Post, bitches! P.S. I’ll be signing autographs outside of Hearst the same day at 6 p.m. But remember, photos only from the right side, and please form the line on the left…

Wednesday
There’s nothing like bringing hot dudes to the Cosmo office for our girls to swoon over. Producer Rez and vocalist Cal, collectively known as Timeflies, are a very cool New York duo (sound is a hybrid of pop-electro-hip-hop-dub-step-and-rock) and made the hearts of our girls go pitter-patter as they performed an acoustic set in our fashion closet. The duo just signed a major recording contract with Island Def Jam (home to Kanye, Rihanna and Bieber), their video’s secured over 45 million views on YouTube, they sold out two nights at Terminal 5, and their independent EP debuted at #2 on iTunes Top Album chart only a few months ago. These boys are the next big thing! You must check out my fave song, “Swoon,” and you can say you knew them when…

Thursday
Today’s order of business: replaced JoCo’s blackberry, which somehow (not pointing any fingers) died last night; rushed over to Apple for a mini iPad with cellular service, connected it and filled it up with JC’s fave apps (NYT, Sirius, New York, and Cosmo), music (Sex Pistols, Duran Duran, Adele and Alabama Shakes) and TV Shows (The Killing, in original Danish—she’s a real Viking, natch, and House Of Cards—did I mention she still hums the theme song from the British original?); wrote my music column for Marie Claire’s May issue, and wrecked my brain with her madgesty’s request of having something delish for lunch with zero calories (I’ll have what she’s having!). All in a day’s work…

Friday
Obsessed: “I Love You” by Woodkid; “Fantasy” by MS MR; “Hold Me” by Tom Odell; “Blackbird” by Dido; “Falling” by HAIM; “Scream & Shout” Remix by will.i.am & Britney Spears with Hit Boy, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil’ Wayne and Diddy; “E.W.O.L.”  by Marina & the Diamonds; “Almost Home” by Mariah Carey and “What You Wanted” by OneRepublic.
