Set the DVR! Tonight’s the season premiere of The Fashion Fund‘s second season on the Ovation network, which seemingly only exists to air this show. As you’ll recall, the docu-show documents the selection of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner, with Anna Wintour, Mark Holgate, Steven Kolb, Ken Downing, Jeffrey Kalinsky, Jenna Lyons, Reed Krakoff, David Neville, Rufus Wainwright, and Andrew Rosen putting their Simon Cowell caps on as judges. (Spoiler alert: Paul Andrew was crowned the winner earlier this week, beating our more visible newcomers such as Wes Gordon and Tanya Taylor.) In The Times today, Vanessa Friedman dedicates some ink to the show and points out how looks and being camera-friendly are all part of the game for designers now. “If the world is, indeed, a stage, why should the fashion world be any different? It can be only a matter of time before Marc Jacobs comes to a YouTube channel near you, or Alexander Wang gets his own Netflix deal. Let the acting classes begin,” Friedman writes. In this preview clip (which only has 279 views on YouTube), designer Thaddeus O’Neil talks about his collection to a bemused Anna Wintour, who is about as good as it gets on TV.
