Santoni Opens A Sleek New Store On Madison Avenue

by Paige Reddinger

Luxury Italian footwear company Santoni opened its chic new U.S. flagship boutique on 762 Madison Avenue last week. The 972-square-foot store was designed by Patricia Urquiola and is based on the design of the brand’s Italian boutique on the Via Montenapoleone in Milan. “She’s a famous designer and architect,” CEO Giuseppe Santoni told The Daily. “We are very happy to be working with her. Every element in the store has been designed specifically for this store, even the chairs.” In addition to its sleek footwear offerings in exquisite leathers, crocodile, and suede for both men and women, the store boasts a specific area devoted to customer service. “Anyone who wants to have a special polish, a special color, or modify the color, adjust, or just clean the shoes can have it done here by an on site specialist,” said Santoni.

Santoni was founded in 1975 by Andrea Santoni and has grown into a business known for its high-quality handcrafted shoes. Giuseppe Santoni, Andrea’s son, now runs the company and continues to grow the business. When we met with Santoni at the store on Friday, there were already several customers purchasing pieces, including some chic new brogues. While the brand might be more widely known for its men’s shoes, the ladies shoes are equally covetable. We suggest you head uptown to check out the sleek pair of black knee-high stiletto boots perched to the right of the store upon entering. To die for! “This new flagship store in New York represents a milestone in our expansion process,” said Santoni in an official press statement. “This is the most important luxury market worldwide, and we want to establish a strong relationship and a sense of trust in this strategic city, also with the traveling clientele.” Looks like they’re putting their best foot forward…
