Sally LaPointe Fall 2015

by Dena Silver

When a designer does something right, why mess with the equation? Sally LaPointe knows her way around a proper pant, a fur top, and swingy skirts, she stuck to that foolproof combination this season. Movement was a big story here: skirts swished with fringe and pants featured waist ties that floated along. For accessories, mile-high mules with super-sharp toes were balanced with seriously oversized clutches in fabrics such as white leather or black pony hair. Very chic. Aside from the stunning clothes, the set was eye-catching, too. LaPointe was inspired by Pina Bausch, the German choreographer, and thus the runway felt like a dance stage, fashioned out of a camel carpet with a smattering of lights hovering above.
