Last night, Saks Fifth Avenue’s New York City flagship got a red carpet makeover to host the premiere of Tim Burton’s new film, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Seriously—the red carpet wrapped around the flagship’s Fifth Avenue and 50th street corner, and the store’s windows featured installations from the combined creative efforts of Marc Jacobs, Burton, and the store’s team, inspired by the film’s (and Burton’s) gothic and whimsical style. The film’s cast came out for the premiere, which was in collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox, including Samuel L. Jackson, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Lauren McCrostie, Finlay MacMillan, and Eva Green, who wore a sleeveless rich crimson gown by Elie Saab. You can find Green along with her co-star Jackson in Saks’ Fall 2016 Magalog on the front and back covers wearing brands like Balenciaga and Dior.
The film’s producers, Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping, also attended, as well as costume designer Colleen Atwood, screenwriter Jane Goldman, and the book’s author Ransom Riggs. Plus, how can you not love an appearance by Zac Efron (kind of random, but we love it regardless), Alysia Reiner, Patti Lupone, and Michael Shannon? The evening ended with an after-party on Saks’ 8th floor, which was adorned with haunting bird-like florals, peculiar punch cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres inspired by the film, which premieres in theaters everywhere on September 30.
