Saint Laurent Fall 2015

by Dena Silver

Rocker chicks reigned supreme, yet again, on the Saint Laurent runway. And Hedi Slimane‘s loyal following will definitely have a lot to choose from. While some looks were borrowed from the boys, like a slim version of Le Smoking paired with an even skinnier tie, others were overtly sexy, like skin-tight leather dresses. The hemlines were almost obscenely short, as poufy prom-friendly chiffon frocks and sparkly zebra numbers skimmed the tops of the mods’ thighs. But ’80s-inspired dresses aside, there was a big emphasis on outerwear here, including a cropped version of the esteemed safari jacket, Fall’s lineup also included some tweedy toppers, a PVC trench coat, and a rainbow of furry options. Tying together the entire feel of the collection were ripped fishnet tights, heavily-rimmed eyes, and pouty red lips. Oh, and an exclusive punk rock tune from The Felines, titled “Pretty Boy”, which was also the collection’s title. Slimane’s rockabilly customers will find plenty to love in this collection, but the maison‘s late founder would probably feel a bit differently about the looks.
