Jourdan Dunn Talks Summer Plans at Interior Designer Ryan Korban’s Cocktail Party

by Eddie Roche

The fashion crowd came out in droves last night for a cocktail party hosted by Jourdan Dunn and Brandon Maxwell to celebrate interior designer Ryan Korban‘s latest project — the residential building 40 Bleecker.  Guests like Zoe Kravitz, Joseph Altuzarra, Daphne Groenveld, Vanessa Moody, Alex and Keytt Lundqvist, Hanne Gabby Odiele, Virginia Smith, Edward Barsamian, Matthew Marden, James Scully, Eric Rutherford, and Aurora James were all in attendance, showing their support for Korban and getting a sneak peek inside the ritzy new Noho condos he designed, which start at $1.8 million  and come with amenities such as a 58-foot pool, an exercise room, a landscaped courtyard, complimentary bike storage, and private parking.

When asked if he had plans to move into the swanky new digs, Maxwell quipped. “I’m going to have to sell a few more dresses.”

Even if you don’t know Korban’s name, you’re probably familiar with his work. The 33-year-old is responsible for designing the Soho flagships for both Alexander Wang and Balenciaga, as well as the New York showroom of designer Joseph Altuzarra. He’s also decorated homes for stars like Kanye West and James Franco, although 40 Bleecker is  his first residential development.

Korban lent the space to the Maxwell earlier this year to shoot a video of his spring campaign featuring Dunn and her son. “When I first saw the edit, I was legit in tears,” Dunn said last night. “I was so happy that Brandon wanted to show the world the relationship between me and my son. Looking back on it today is bringing back that feeling. It was so much fun.”

The UK-based model also told us she wasn’t quite sure what the rest of her year would look like. “Normally every summer I go away for my birthday, but I just bought a house in London and I’m kinda thinking I might spend my summer in London and just enjoy my house and have garden parties and barbecues,” she said. “If something really good comes up, I might go away. If not, I’m happy to spend it in London in my new house. Either way, I’m happy.”
