Resort 2014: Ralph Lauren

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) While Ralph Lauren‘s Spring runway transported us to Spain, his resort collection had us dreaming of Paris. More specifically, a jaunt to Opéra de Paris, where the city of love’s famous ballets are staged. The collection seemed lifted from the wardrobes of the beautiful ballerinas, via pretty pale pink looks. The on point stylings included a halter dress with a pink wrap top, a twirl-worthy chiffon dress with a sheer matching wrap accessorized with heeled ballerina slippers, and a black full-body leotard worn underneath a soft pink flowy A-line skirt.

But alongside all that flirty romantic femininity, there were plenty of chic and sleek black pieces, conjuring the subtle stylish sophistication inherent in any truly well-dressed Parisian woman (or any city dwelling dame, for that matter). What will lovers of noir want to nab? Shiny black leather pants worn with a simply black wrap coat for a classy hint at femme fatale sex appeal; a simple black silk top mingled with matching silk trou and a bone-colored suede coat draped on the shoulders for a stunning look in its simplicity. And a few looks were topped off with that symbolic Parisian chapeau: a beret, bien sûr.
