Resort 2014: Nicole Miller

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Nicole Miller
After vacationing to a spa retreat in Phoenix, Nicole Miller took her inspiration for her designs from the desert. (Sensing a dry-climes theme this Resort season, chicettes?) And while dresses are typically the focus for Miller, this resort season was mostly about easy separates. Ivories, light shimmery golds, black, and sunset oranges, blues and purples made up the color palette.

A long ivory dress with shimmery sequins got topped with a light and soft ivory moto style jacket, while a short dress in the same hue was adorned with golden fabric that ran down the front of the dress and gathered in the middle for a sunbeam affect. Dazzling! Similarly, a white, sequined v-neck cocktail dress also gave off the sparkly affect of the desert sun. Hints of orange appeared as lining peeping out from hems, like a grey floral crop top with orange underlay paired with black slouchy pants. A snakeskin-patterned iteration also made an appearance, pulled together with white shorts and a relaxed black blazer. The desert dusk was brought to life in pieces with a recurrent pattern encompassing hues of navy, purple, and black. We hate that we have to wait until resort delivery: this collection makes us want to start packing ASAP!
