by Paige Reddinger

Repetto announced the hire of a new CEO of the Americas: Gilles Assor. He spent the past five years as VP of Robert Clergerie, where he worked since 2014 on repositioning and developing the business in North America and worldwide. Previously, the 42-year-old designer has worked at esteemed houses like Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Margiela, and Marc Jacobs before moving to the U.S. in 2010.

“I am thrilled to join this iconic maison with its profound heritage in both the ballet and fashion world,” said Assor in a press statement. “When I met with the owner Jean-Marc Gaucher, I immediately embraced his vision and the way he has transformed Repetto into a global luxury brand. I am excited to build on his success and further grow the brand’s presence here in the U.S.”

Repetto has plans to put itself on the fashion map. The brand recently hired powerhouse PR firm Karla Otto and has plans for a special collaboration during New York Fashion Week and two capsule collections exclusive to the North American market, which will be revealed with the collections during Paris Fashion Week in September.

Assor’s new role is effective immediately, and the plan is to expand the brand’s wholesale and retail distribution in the Americas by introducing a new marketing strategy and shopping experience.

Repetto currently has 127 stores worldwide including its new flagship store at the Champs Elysées in Paris and a Soho, New York location.
