Rebecca Taylor Readies For The Red Carpet

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) In the pursuit of a well-rounded wardrobe with sufficient tapis rouge attire? Rebecca Taylor to the rescue: The designer has introduced a formal line of gowns and cocktail dresses to accompany her casual signature line. Taylor certainly has designed for special occasions before. However, this 12-piece collection is dressier than the designer’s typical frock designs thanks to fabric choices and fancy flourishes gracing her formal line.

As designers often are compelled to do, Taylor turned to Paris for some romantic inspiration. Her pièce de résistance? The Pyramide du Louvre. The structure, which symbolizes the intersection between modern architecture and deeply rooted French culture, translates into a collection which includes pieces such as a peach beaded dress, a black chiffon number with studs and cutouts, plus a long gown complete with leather and sheer insets. The likely purchasers of these gussied-up pieces: the New York chic set that frequents the buzzing charity scene, which can find the gowns at Taylor’s MePa location. Now, onto the fête!
