This February, you can expect a new face at the third edition of New York Fashion Week: Men’s. Enter Raf Simons, who is slated to show his Fall/Winter 2017 namesake collection in New York for the very first time. Since 1997, the designer has presented his line at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, as well as at Pitti Uomo in Florence in June. Considering Simons moved to New York to take on the role of chief creative director at Calvin Klein post-Dior, the decision to present his eponymous label locally seems fit. “Raf will bring a new level of creativity and energy to New York Fashion Week: Men’s and we are excited to have him join this important platform for American menswear,” Steven Kolb, chief executive of the CFDA, told Business of Fashion. Mark your calendars: the chicfest will go down on February 1.
