Kenneth Willardt's The Beauty Book

On Friday, Danish photographer Kenneth Willardt threw a bash at 558 Gallery in Chelsea, where an exhibition of his photographs from his fashionable new tome The Beauty Book will be on view now through December 7th. The book features images like plus-size model Robin Lawley with bunnies covering her chest, a shot of Gigi Hadid dripping wet on a mattress, and an unforgettable black and white image of Emily DiDonato in nothing but black ribbon and heels pulling ropes on top of a geometric sculpture. Also included in the coffee table read: a slew of Willardt’s celeb subjects, like Christian Slater, Lady Gaga, and Jennifer Lopez.

But the best part of this book? It’s interactive via an app on iTunes, which will also be available on Google play. That means you can view a heightened version of the photographs like an image of Hadid with her long curled blond locks moving across the page, or, say, flowers wavering back and forth on Hailey Clauson‘s nude painted body. In some cases, a behind-the-scenes film will pop up when you scan the photo, like a shoot with model Victoria Lee in a supermarket. The 304-page book published by teNeues costs $125, but all of the proceeds will be donated to Rescuers Without Borders, a medical organization dedicated to saving people around the world regardless of nationality or religion. Beauty begets a beautiful cause.
