Paris Jackson Lands Her First Fashion Cover

by Kristen Heinzinger

Paris Jackson has been making her way into the spotlight in a big way these days. The 18-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson just landed her first-ever fashion cover, fronting the 10th edition of CR Fashion Book, along with IMG’s Halima Aden. The theme of the issue? Paris, Roitfeld’s homebase, bien sûr. Just last month, Jackson was on the cover of Rolling Stone and gave her first major interview since her dad died in 2009. The rising fashion fixture sat next to Roitfeld at the Givenchy men’s show in Paris and has been upping her style game on red carpets, wearing Balmain to the Grammys and Tadashi Shoji to the InStyle Golden Globes After Party. On the CR cover, shot by Mario Sorrenti, she poses in Gucci and inside, Lee Daniels—who is also highlighted in the issue and cast Jackson in his show “Star”—interviews the burgeoning celeb about her father, a music career, and more.

Inspiration from her father…
“All of my inspiration. I would say 99 percent of my inspiration comes from him, because he has always been my world. He is my roots.”

On future a potential career in music…
“I write music for myself. I use it as a way to get stuff out. It’s not something I see myself following career-wise. There are so many amazing artists in my family. If I were to do it as a career, it would change how I feel about music and I don’t want that to happen.”

One quality she wishes to possess from her dad…
“Definitely his strength. He was the strongest person I know and tried to do everything with a much love and kindness as possible.”
