DAY 2: February 26, 2019
Koche
Koche’s latest collection was bright and fun, full of sparkly blazers, biker leggings, formal trousers, and sweatshirts with skirts. The show was energetic and jubilant, and the audience loved the oversized feathered hats added to some looks. The show also featured pieces from the brand’s new collaboration with Nike, bringing together sportswear and fashion.
Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent closed out PFW’s second day with a lavish show in a mirrored venue that reflected the Eiffel Tower. The first row was full of celebrities like Zoë Kravitz, Kate Moss, Catherine Deneuve, and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The collection featured oversized shoulders and deep cleavages — a perfect balance between masculinity and sensuality. Towards the end of the show black lights were turned on, highlighting the glowing neon of many of the clothes.
DAY 1: February 25, 2019
Jacquemus
The buzzy young designer kicked off Paris Fashion Week with “La Collectionneuse,” his fall 2019 collection inspired by Éric Rohmer’s 1967 film of the same name. The set was designed to look like a street scene in Southern France, while the clothes were relaxed in silhouette and vibrant in color. Simon Porte Jacquemus is known for having a cheeky sense of humor with his accessories, and this season he introduced a micro-bag — Le Chiquito — so small it fits in the palm of one’s hand.
