Pamela Anderson’s Next Act? Lingerie Impresario and Self-Help Author!

by Sydney Sadick

What’s the latest with Pamela Anderson? A lingerie collection, for starters. Pamela Loves Coco de Mer, a collaboration with the ultra-sexy brand, consists of 34 sexy bras, pasties, panties, and more. Naturally, we required a few details:

Pamela, how did this all come together?
I’m a big fan of Coco De Mer—I always have been. I used to always shop in the store in L.A., and when it closed, I was really depressed. When I came to London, I stayed at the Covent Garden Hotel right across the street from Coco De Mer, and of course I was in there shopping every day. I think I have one of everything! The girls in there were really excited and called Lucy [Litwak] (Coco De Mer managing director) to tell her that I was shopping. She left me a note at the hotel, and we had lunch, which led to us designing a collection of lingerie. We did a short film, and I modeled for their Icon collection. It’s been a big year. The line is very playful and romantic. I just thought of references from the women who I love and admire. I created a collection that I wanted for my own closet. That was easy, and now I have it!

Who inspired you?
Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe…there are so many! I love that curvy, feminine, seductress look. I really wanted the collection to accentuate curves and different body styles and body types.

We know what you like in underwear. Tell us about your taste in clothes!
I have very simple style. I like pencil skirts and sweaters. You can have a very sophisticated sense of style and still wear something really fun underneath. I prefer to keep my wildness private—I’m simple on the outside.

How do you stay in shape?
I like to move my body, I like to be outside, and I’m very active. Right now, I’m taking beginner ballet! I have two boys, so I was always running around with my dog while they were surfing. I’m not going to be in a gym, ever. Seriously. And with beauty stuff, I’m really terrible. I never wash the makeup off my face. My mom was a huge influence on my life, and she thinks everything is a ripoff—she says you should just rub coconut oil all over your face and get the same results!

Ha! What else is new?
My book with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is coming out next year. When I was going through a divorce, I started speaking with him. He heard that I was a very good mom, because my neighbors are his good friends. We ended up talking, and he said, “You need to write a book!” All the advice he gave me was so fantastic, and so I said, “No, you should write a book!” Then we decided to write a book together. Wouldn’t that be really bizarre? It’s about relationships, sexuality, and keeping love alive.
