The evening brought out a list of VIP names including Michael Douglas, Rachel Zoe, Anna and Graydon Carter, Stacey Bendet, Jenna Lyons, and Steven Kolb.

Business is booming for Christopher Burch. Yesterday it was announced that colossal hedge fund Fidelty took a $35 million stake in the company, valuing C. Wonder at $350 million. That’s quite a feat for a company that’s only been around since Burch opened his first retail store in New York’s Soho nabe in October of 2011. With the massive deal settled, the brand is planning a mega-expansion: By 2014, Burch plans to open between 50 and 100 retail stores, including international operations in Germany, Dubai, and Japan. The end goal is to amass 110 stores in the U.S., which would be part of a global portfolio of up to 350 retail spots.

With the communication barrier, the samples never returned in working order. Insert a cartoon light bulb and an introduction to Don Klingbeil and his iconic ice-skating factory in Jamaica Queens. As if by fate, Klingbeil was shutting down production and the Adoni brothers swooped in to take over.

In the midst of his super secretive gig with Oscar de la Renta, John Galliano exited a Paris courtoom today with another small victory towards his road to redemption. The news? The French Labor Relations Court ruled that they were qualified to hear the designer’s side of the story, which is bound to come out in his $15 million lawsuit against his former employer Christian Dior and namesake label John Galliano. This is just the first step in what will undoubtedly be a long battle. Galliano’s lawyer, Chantal Giraud-Gaver, said it could take years due to a back-up of cases at the court.

Ferrara comes to MC with a strong track record as a freelance fashion ed, plus a history at another Hearst glossy, Harper’s Bazaar.
