Paco Rabanne Spring/Summer 2018

In a time when it seems there are less reasons to celebrate, Paco Rabanne’s collection certainly made one want to hit the dance floor. Many designers are choosing to look on the bright side this season and Julien Dossena decided to up the ante with Paco Rabanne’s signature chain metal (an appropriate time to pump up the heavy metal, given Donatella Versace’s earth-shattering revival of Versace’s versions on the world’s most famous supermodels). Dossena decided to rip and shred his chain meta,l making for some fantastically twirl-worthy pieces along with some seriously cool shredded pants and some disco-fab jumpsuits. He even incorporated paisley into his metal creations, an unusual but interesting mix. But how to make jersey stand out in the noise? Add Tetris-like digital prints and slits that reveal legs for days. Other club hits will be the one-shouldered cherry red silk gown, a tiny sheer pink flounce dress, and a leather mini accent shown over a shirt dress. Let’s get this party started already!
