Olivia Kim Brings New “Space” to Nordstrom

by Sydney Sadick

In her efforts to give Nordstrom a “cool” factor, style guru Olivia Kim, the department store’s stylist and director of creative projects, has just launched SPACE: a speciality boutique curated by the ultimate cool girl herself. The SPACE collection, which is available both in-store (Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago and soon-to-open Vancouver, B.C.) and online, features an eclectic mix of high end and emerging designers, including Marques’ Almeida, Jacquemus and Simone Rocha. You can even score some faux-fur Shrimps coats (obsessed), and Acne pieces too, making for parfait wardrobe additions. “I want this to be a place of inspiration and education,” Kim explains to The Cut. “A lot of these pieces are new and directional, but I want it to always feel inclusive.”

Kim’s SPACE is somewhat of an extension to her Pop-In@Nordstrom project, pop-up retail spaces located inside select Nordstrom stores and online that changes themes each month and promotes merchandise from emerging designers or special collaborators. All merchandise is hand-picked by Kim, who previously made a name for herself as VP of Creative at Opening Ceremony before joining the Seattle-based company.
