Off-White and creative director IB Kamara have decided to part ways after four years together. Kamara first worked alongside the brand’s founder, Virgil Abloh, before stepping into the role of creative director himself following Abloh’s death from cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, on November 28, 2021, at the age of 41.
The announcement comes just one month after Off-White announced the launch of their diffusion line, L/AB c/o Off-White — a lower-priced basics collection along the lines of Fear of God Essentials featuring t-shirts, hoodies, tracksuits, sneakers, outerwear, and underwear for men and women.

“We are deeply grateful for IB’s vision, creativity, and the remarkable energy he brought to Off-White throughout his tenure,” said Bluestar Alliance CEO Joey Gabbay in a statement. “IB’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping and evolving the brand, and we sincerely thank him for his dedication and lasting impact.”
Off-White has struggled since the death of its founder and was acquired by Bluestar Alliance from LVMH in September of 2024.
“Working at Off-WhiteTM has been an honour and a profound creative education, said Kamara. “The teams I have worked alongside, the collections we produced, the shows we dreamt, and the conversations we sparked — I will carry all of it with me, and I am deeply grateful for every person who gave their energy and talent to this vision. Off-WhiteTM is bigger than any one idea, exactly as Virgil intended — a house with genuine values, rooted in culture, community, and the belief that fashion can speak to everyone. I leave with enormous pride in all we have made, and with nothing but excitement for what this house will continue to become.”
Kamara’s successor has not yet been announced.
