NYFW: Men’s Finds a New Venue and Dates

by Kristen Heinzinger

The dates and venue for New York Fashion Week: Men’s have changed once again. While the four-day event took place in July 2015, this upcoming season was scheduled for late January, but now will be pushed back to February 1-4, according to WWD. The women’s collection will follow on February 11.According to Mark Beckham, business director of fashion week for the CFDA, the reason for the change is to better align with the European men’s shows that wrap up in Paris on January 30.

Due to the change in schedule, Skylight at Clarkson Square is booked with another event, so the event will noow be held at a nearby venue that is reportedly 70,000 square feet (a bit larger than Skylight) and features a loft-like ambiance, windows, and three different show spaces. One venue will hold 400 guests, another 230, and a third is reserved for emerging designers, sponsored by Dockers. “With the proximity of the men’s and women’s shows and the schedule in Europe, we’re pushing our dates to accommodate the maximum number of retailers and editors,” said Beckham. Last year’s sponsors—Amazon Fashion, Cadillac, Shinola, and Dockers—are expected to return this year, he added, and he anticipates the same 51 brands will participate once again.
