Nicole Miller Spring 2015

by Daniel Chivu

It was nice to escape New York for a moment and arrive on the sandy beach of Rio on Nicole Miller‘s runway for Spring. It was a peek of South America through a New Yorker’s point of view; the muted florals and wild prints were tamed with stripes and waves of black. So what’s there to eat on this trip with Miller, who is a total foodie? Pineapples adorned long sleeve T-shirts, a melange of bananas and cherries embellished a white top, and a full-on fruit salad trailed down the side seams of a pencil skirt. The skirts this season were something to discuss, as they were offered up in a variety of shapes and sizes. A short fishtail style covered in black and white swoops, a black full skirt with flirty cutouts, and perfectly tailored pencil skirts, both with and without thigh-high slits. But alors, why did we take this trip to Rio with Miller? “I was listening to an old Peter Allen song, “I Go To Rio,” that I love and it made me nostalgic for my trip to Rio. Brazil is in the air, between the World Cup and the upcoming Olympics.” Now, we’ll be fully dressed for our next trip to the exotic locale.
