New Year, New You, New PR Hierarchy!

(NEW YORK) January 3 was a day of firsts for many new employees of New York’s top PR agencies and fashion brands. Among the notable appointments:

Kate Etter has been named director of public relations at Tory Burch. This is a new position, and Etter will report to Frances Pennington, VP of global public relations and brand communications. Most recently, Etter served as senior account manager at PR Consulting, where she handled accounts such as Jil Sander, Narciso Rodriguez, and Nina Ricci. Prior to that, Etter served as PR manager at Nina Ricci.

Taunya Woo, formerly of Gucci, has joined J.Crew as PR manager, working on women’s with Heather Lynch McAuliffe.  Michael Krueger, formerly of LaForce + Stevens, has been named account director at HL Group, overseeing men’s initiatives from Canali, HMX, Orlebar Brown, Zilli, Dolce & Gabbana, and D&G. Megan Matthews, formerly director at Toronto’s Harbinger agency, has also joined HL Group as senior director in the fashion division.  And Brie Cross, a longtime veteran of Bismarck Phillips Communications and Media, has joined the fashion team at KCD as senior publicist, handling Carven and consulting on Tommy Hilfiger and ADAM. After departing BPCM in the fall, she travelled around the world and spent several months in Seattle. And as previously reported, Christopher Martinelli decamped Starworks—one of a handful in recent months—to join Calvin Klein as PR director for men’s. Any we missed? Leave them in the comments!
