Candy Pratts Price is joining Depatures as a contributing editor. The former Vogue editor will kick things off in the May/June Culture issue with a “Flashback” article about the late fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, also the the subject of a retrospective called “ANTONIO LOPEZ: Future Funk Fashion” at the Museo del Barrio in Manhattan, opening June 14. “I’ve known Candy ever since I worked at Vogue magazine,” said Richard David Story, editor-in-chief of Depatures. “Price was outrageous, wonderfully eccentric and keenly intelligent. Luckily for all of us, she still is.”
Pratts Price began her career creating windows at Bloomingdales and joined Harper’s Bazaar as fashion director in 1985. She then moved to Vogue as accessories director in 1988 and later worked at Ralph Lauren as vice president and creative director. Eventually, she returned to Vogue, most recently serving as creative director at Vogue.com. Pratts Price will be celebrated at an invite-only cocktail party on April 28 at The Core Club in NYC.
