Net-A-Porter's "Art Capsul" Collection To Debut During Couture Week

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) In the midst of Paris’ couture collections, Net-A-Porter will be unveiling its Art Capsul collection on Wednesday at the Palais de Tokyo. Stacy Engman, curator of The National Arts Club in New York, has put together a group of artists to create exclusive made-to-order garments, which will launch on the site in September. Some of the artists involved include George Condo, Terence Koh, Vik Muniz, Marina Abramovic, and Mickalene Thomas

Abramovic has been a known supporter of the fashion world, most notably in her close friendship with Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, whose clothing she often wears and to whom she sold her Soho townhouse in May for a cool $3.06 million (friends and family discount?). Meanwhile, Engman is also known for being snapped in head-turning attire and has been adored by W for her style. The chic curator’s wardrobe spans the gamut from industry vets like Vivienne Westwood, Christian Louboutin, and Philip Treacy to up-and-comers like Alon Leviné, Teddy Willoughbyand Chadwick Bell.

What can we expect from the collection? Word of the collection initially hit in Hong Kong. According to Hong Kong-based publication, Manifesto, Condo will be working with silkscreens, Koh is dabbling in pearl motifs, photographic prints will come courtesy of Muniz, Abramovic is doing golf-leafed designs, and Thomas is incorporating Swarovski crystals. Our imaginations are already running wild at the prospect of these designs. Et vous
