Meet the model making waves with her Hollywood debut.

Transitioning from the modeling world into Hollywood is the hope of many a young model. But the road to Sunset Boulevard is paved with challenge after challenge for many in the fashion world. We got a behind-the-scenes peek at the journey to Hollywood for one model, Annie Malee, who is making a splash with her silver screen debut.

Annie has graced the covers of over 20 magazines. Now she’s making waves with her first film, “Abandonment”, opposite Oscar winner and screen legend Richard Dreyfuss. In addition to being a successful model, Malee is also a mathematician, AI entrepreneur, and children’s charity founder. The companies she has founded use artificial intelligence to positively impact the world in fields as diverse as epidemiology and child welfare. She has also established a foundation to support causes such as education, human rights, and animal rescue. And in her spare time, she volunteers with children’s organizations and has now founded a charity for children herself.

We caught up with the model and now Hollywood fresh face to chat movies and more.

Let’s talk fashion. Who are your inspirations?
Audrey Hepburn. Classic, sleek style. Katherine Hepburn. So powerful, so bold. Princess Diana. Jackie Kennedy. Grace Kelly.

Favorite designers, fashion houses?
So many! Chanel, Dior, Prada, Armani, Versace, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Olivier Rousteing, Carolina Herrera, to name just a few! But how can you choose? So much talent in fashion, so many innovative designers.

I’m also really excited by Masha Popova, Tokyo James, and Sinead O’Dwyer, and I can’t wait to see how they blossom and what they bring next.

What’s your go-to, everyday style?
Depends on the day! You can’t beat an LBD for a date night or an evening out with the girls. Some days I want to play dress-up and feel very glam.  Some days I like a cute athleisure set that makes me feel comfy and sporty while I run errands.  Some days it’s fun to get really creative and try a very different street style.  At home, it’s the softest t-shirt and hoodie I can find; I like fabrics to feel gentle against my skin.

Tell us about this new chapter in your life – Hollywood. What was it like to star opposite an Oscar winner in “Abandonment”.
I’m pretty lucky, right?! What a dream it was – not only did I get to act opposite Oscar winner and legend Richard Dreyfuss, but I also got to hear him say my words…that I wrote! A very, very humbling and incredible way to start my Hollywood journey. I can’t wait for audiences to see his performance, and the film overall.

Were you nervous on that first day shooting?
A little bit, sure, but most of the energy I was feeling was excitement, pure childlike joy, and enormous gratitude. I couldn’t believe how fortunate I was to be able to be living out a childhood dream to act opposite one of my favorite actors since I was six years old. And I think when your heart is overflowing with gratitude, it tends to squeeze out the nerves!

Last question – signature fashion piece.
A well-worn denim jacket. I love jean jackets so much that we even worked one into my character’s look in “Abandonment”!

Abandonment opens in theatres this fall.
