Vanity Fair‘s Michael Carl is teaming with The Tie Bar for an on-street styling session, called “Nice Tie, Bro,” starting tomorrow in Manhattan. He’ll be helping unsuspecting gents update their lewk by adding a necktie, tie bar, and pocket square. With a branded Volkswagen bus stocked with Tie Bar accessories, the first stop to get Carl-ized is in the Financial District on October 1st from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Stone Street @ Hanover Square. On Thursday, he’ll be hitting Bryant Park from 11 a.m. -7 p.m. (Perfect location for some of his Condé Nast peeps to drop by.) Follow @thetiebar for location status and #nicetiebronyc. MC answered a couple of our questions about his side gig.

Have you ever given guys makeovers before?
I tried once, but it turns out people don’t like unsolicited advice on the subway. I think I will be better in controlled environment.

Any idea how many guys you’ll be making over?
I expect thousands…

Will this eventually turn into your own show on TLC and a book deal?
That’s a loaded question. I never rule anything out.

Who’s number one on your makeover list?
James Franco. He’s so handsome, smart, and so funny. Why not be on his A game?

Who needs a makeunder?
David Beckham.
