McQ Designers Aleksandar Stanic and Fiona Sinha to Take Over for Sarah Burton?

by Paige Reddinger

Sources in Paris recently revealed to The Daily that Alexander McQueen’s creative director Sarah Burton is in talks to take over the the creative director post at Christian Dior vacated by Raf Simons. Today, we received a tip from inside the McQueen studio that not only is Burton in talks with Dior, but also Alexander McQueen is already looking to McQ designers Fiona Sinha and Aleksandar Stanic as her potential replacements.

Sinha and Stanic have been designing for the label for the past two years. From 2004 to 2009, they designed under the eponymous label Sinha-Stanic while working as design consultants. Sinha, who grew up in Newcastle in the Northeast of England, and Stanic, who is originally from Croatia but spent time in Germany, both met in London in 1998 at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. The design duo and couple have been working under Burton’s direction designing McQ, McQueen’s contemporary label. We reached out to Kering, but a representative for the luxury conglomerate refrained from commenting on what she characterized as “rumors.”
