Marques’ Almeida Fall 2015

by Paige Reddinger

At Marques’ Almeida, it was all about shards of fabric thrown together in a purposefully haphazard way, frayed hems, baggy swaths of fabric, and oversized knits. If you were to go to a thrift store and pile on anything and everything you found, you might come close to the idea behind this collection, although you certainly wouldn’t come out with the elevated aesthetic.  The vibe ended up translating into a  sort of grunge meets club kid vibe. The looks that worked the best were the melange of undone tapestry-like fabrics in vibrant purples, lime greens, and pinks. And those baggy denim numbers? Those will be editorial gold mines for the edgier niche mags.
