Before her show, Marissa Webb told us that it was going to be a mix of East meets West, but it was also her signature mix of tomboy meets girly-girl. That meant militaristic army green pinafores worn over flowy white romantic dresses, boyish blazers worn over silk slip dresses, and a sheer white organza cargo vest worn over a white silk drop waist flounce dress. It all had a laid back, cool vibe; some lustworthy pieces included floor-length numbers like a sleeveless white cotton and eyelet shirt dress or a long black shirt dress styled partially open over a blue linen double button skirt, a look that came cinched at the waist with a black leather belt. One gets the sense that Webb is, thankfully, very involved in the styling. Other pieces that really stood out were the anorak coatis in blue linen and green coated cotton. A poppy red silk draped dress is the kind of simple, easy, statement making item that every woman should have in their wardrobe.
