Let’s All Just Agree That Lela Rose’s Runway Dog Show Was the Cutest Thing Ever

by Charles Manning

It was fashion meets the Westminster Dog Show yesterday afternoon, when Lela Rose presented her Fall 2019 collection at Studio 525 in Chelsea. Models decked out in Rose’s typically ladylike designs sashayed their way down the astro-turfed runway, pups at their side, as Jenna Bush Hager and Robert Verdi took on announcer duties. The whole affair was, in a word, adorable.

“I’m a bit more than your average dog lover,” said Rose. “There’s a rare moment that you won’t see me with Bobbin, my Norwich Terrior, on the back of my bike or seated next to me at a dinner party. The inspiration for this collection struck when I happened upon an antique dog cameo button, but my four-legged friends have long been a lovable influence.”

All the excitement proved a bit too much for one lovable pup, who left a little… um… business (?) on the runway. Luckily, Rose, being a dog lover, was prepared for just such a possibility and sent out a sharply-dressed man in teeny tiny shorts knee socks to retrieve the… um… package. The smell apparently lingered for a few minutes, but hey, it’s a small price to pay for all these adorable pictures!

A portion of the proceeds from the Fall 2019 sales on Lelarose.com and at the Dallas flagship boutique will be donated to the ASPCA.
