It went down in the DMs—such is how Laura Brown’s upcoming partnership with Sézane came to be. Last night over an intimate dinner at a private residence in Tribeca, Brown told guests that the French brand’s founder, Morgane Sézalory, first reached out to her via Instagram private message to tell her she liked her vibe. And the rest, is history.
Titled French Enough and set to debut in 2023, the collection will see the Australian journalist and fashion figure team up with Sézane on a limited-edition capsule of quintessentially French must-haves. And if the frenzy over the cozy, colorful knitwear hidden amongst the bookshelves—which was up for grabs post-dinner—was anything to go by, it’s sure to sell like hot potatoes.
Gathering last night for lavender and nectarine-infused cocktails and delectable French fare and wine were screen stars including Rose Byrne, Nina Dobrev, Nicole Ari Parker, and Elizabeth Lail, and models Coco Rocha, Maria Borges, and Liya Kebde. Following the ‘French Enough’ theme, they enjoyed dishes by Chef Camille Becerra served family style, including croque monsieur, onion tart, filet mignon, and roast chicken. If not for the twinkling lights of downtown NYC visible from the windows, you’d be hard pushed to think you weren’t in a chic apartment in the 6th arrondissement.
Also in attendance for the evening were Amy Astley, Stephanie Ruhle, Aamito Lagum, Veronica Webb, Andi and Madelynn Matichak, Christine Evangelista, Melissa Roxburgh, Bonnie Morrison, Carlotta Kohl, Dee Poku, Chloe King, Destinee Ross-Sutton, Elisa Lipsky-Karasz, Kristina O’Neill, Elissa Santisi, Jessica Testa, Kerry Diamond, Kristen Tauer, Margot Hand, Monica Paolini, Sean Monahan, and more.
