La Perla Celebrates Six Decades With Silk, Lace, And A Soirée

by Dena Silver

Last night, La Perla threw a chic soirée with Vogue to celebrate 60 years in the biz, showing that they’ve clearly perfected the recipe for dressing strong women in their lingerie, ready-to-wear, and swimsuits. The luxe lacy things label certainly knows how to fill a room, as they did at Omar’s in the West Village with a slew of notables faces, most of whom were decked out in the celebratory 60th anniversary collection. La Perla also honored six women they felt embodied the brand and all they’ve put forth over the years. So who were the lucky ladies? Dr. Lisa Airan, Hannah Bronfman, Pippa Cohen, Rula Jebreal, Jessica Joffe, and Eugenie Niarchos. And their close friends came out to support them, including Liu Wen, Daria Strokus, Jamie Bochert, Bryanboy, Sophie Theallet, Claire Distenfeld, Pat McGrath, and Ann Dexter Jones.

In addition to sipping cocktails and wandering around the dark and glamorous space, revelers got a tiny peek at La Perla’s archive. There were a handful of framed, vintage La Perla lingerie pieces, all of which was curated by the Vogue team. It even included that caged corset Beyoncé wore to the Grammys back in January. “If you think about how things change over that long time, in a style perspective, it reminds you that La Perla is very unique and timeless,” La Perla’s CEO of North America, Suzy Biszantz, told us. “If you think about all the turns and twists that brands make over time, it’s amazing to see how we’ve stayed so true.” With such a chic product, we hope they stay true for the next six decades…and beyond!
