Women’s mags are having a rough time of it this month. Khloe Kardashian, who appears on the cover of Shape’s May issue, is the latest to sound off on social media about cover placement. “Love Shape mag & I’m thrilled to be on the cover but we took so many better cover images. I wish they would have used the other set ups over that simple grey look [smirk emoji]” she tweeted today.
Last week, Kerry Washington was less than impressed with the Photoshop job on her AdWeek cover. She gently scolded them on Instagram, writing, “It felt strange to look at a picture of myself that is so different from what I look like when I look in the mirror. It’s an unfortunate feeling. That being said. You all have been very kind and supportive. Also, as I’ve said, I’m very proud of the article.”
And the week before that, Amy Schumer slammed Glamour for the Lane Bryant special edition, where her name appeared alongside plus size models’ on the “Chic at Every Size” cover. “@glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me,” she wrote on Instagram. (They’ve since made up.)
