Karl Lagerfeld Launches E-Commerce for Eponymous Brand

by Paige Reddinger

Karl Lagerfeld has launched e-commerce for his eponymous brand and he’s going big in typical Kaiser fashion. The brand will launch online for 97 countries and will be shoppable in five languages. The site launches in November in partnership with Italy’s Yoox Net-A-Porter Group, and with Artnet.com for an auction of three one-of-a-kind bags and original sketches by the designer. The bags will be available for bidding from November 5 to November 10.

Karl.com will feature a wider range of women’s products, such as the complete accessories line, three-quarters of the ready-to-wear, and licensed products like fragrances, watches, eyewear, and novelty items. Men’s wear and children’s wear will launch in Spring 2016. The online store will also reveal new products every two weeks (because Karl is a tireless machine!). Capsule collections are also lined up, beginning with the Karl Around the World range, which is inspired by Lagerfeld’s own jet-set lifestyle. He clearly has travel on his mind this year as his collection for Chanel was shown against the backdrop of a fully imagined Chanel Airlines terminal in Paris’ Grand Palais. When Lagerfeld does something new, he always takes it to the next level, be it a website launch or a fashion show.
