John Galliano To Teach Masterclass At Parsons

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) John Galliano‘s got another new gig. His latest role? Teacher. The designer is set to teach a masterclass series at Parsons entitled, “Show Me Emotion!” The class will be taught to the design school’s seniors in the bachelor of fine arts program. The four-day course will include three days in the design studio with Galliano, which will be followed by a critique and Q&A with the dean of fashion, Simon Collins

According to The Telegraph a memo to the students described the class as “provoking the power of emotion in the context of fashion.” Students will be encouraged to interact with the designer to learn about “the intense pressure of sustaining a role at the very top of the design world.” Galliano has, under unfortunate circumstances, learned many lessons himself about his (very public) former role at the top of the design world. The designer has slowly been making a comeback, aided enormously by his recent design stint with Oscar de la Renta during New York Fashion Week. Things to expect once the masterclass kicks off: a waitlist to get in (probably not limited to Parsons students) and probably an attempted sneak in or two. Parsons kids, we’ll be counting on your tweets to give us the full Prof. Galliano experience!
