Jennifer Lawrence and Lady Liberty unite for the cover of Vogue‘s most anticipated issue of the year—the September issue, that is—lensed by Annie Leibovitz. In honor of the book’s 125th anniversary, Vogue commissioned additional artists and photographers to give their best shot at lensing the actress, including photography legends Inez and Vinoodh and Bruce Weber and artist John Currin. The actress dons a slip dress in red with her hair loosely up, perched against railing with the sunset behind her. The issue comes out at an interesting time for J-Law, who earlier this week was blamed by fans for the break-up of Anna Farris and Chris Pratt. In the interview with Vogue‘s Jason Gay, she opens up about her legitimate relationship with boyfriend of almost one year Darren Aronofsky, saying, “We had energy.” They met on the set of their upcoming film Mother!—he, the director, she, the star—which discusses throughout the article. “I had energy for him. I don’t know how he felt about me.”
