J.Crew Announces Its European Expansion Plan

by Dena Silver

A  very stylish market that’s been devoid of a J.Crew fix and their delectably trendy-yet-preppy wares will finally join the rest of the world: the brand has announced their plans to open up not one, but two shops in Paris by 2015. While both outposts will be located in the chic Marais neighborhood, the shop dedicated to women is set to open in March, followed by the men’s space in September. The reason for the Parisian takeover? Mickey Drexler told WWD that the French are among the top 10 countries that flock to J.Crew’s e-commerce site. When they’re not placing online orders, they’re shopping at the store while on their vacances, especially in places like New York. While the women’s shop will be aesthetically similar to their South Kensington location, the men’s boutique will be modeled after the J.Crew Liquor Store located on West Broadway in TriBeCa. But the expansion won’t stop there: London will welcome their fifth J.Crew shop by the first quarter of next year. This outpost, located on Marylebone High Street, will feature only women’s clothes. As far as store openings go, these three are bound to be pretty fantastic, non?
